The Rain came

     Labang'o is the main character in The Rain Came and he is worth writing about because he is a father and he loves his family. The most significant features about Labang'o are his love,his compassion, and his care for his people and his family. The two forces that are at odds with each other is man vs. society because Labang'o's people want to sacrifice his only daughter to bring rain. They are at odds because Labong'o loves his daughter very much and doesn't want her to die and wishes that they would choose someone else's daughter. The reader should learn that life can be dangerous and unpredictable because Oganda,the daughter, had no idea that she was going to be sacrificed and thought that they were discussing her marriage and not her death. A word that I did not know was torrents and it means:A strong and fast-moving stream of water or other liquid and in the story it means that the rain will pour down and it will come down fast. 

Is there a science in Morality? Choice in dying

    This article is organized from least important to most important because it starts out with the boring science things. The tone of this passage is cynical because it says, "...suggest science is sufficient to accomplish what moral philosophers have been unable to accomplish-..." they are questioning weather or not scientists or philosophers are really correct. This article is explaining weather morality has a scientific explanation. A scientific understanding comes from this email stating, "If you think abortion is wrong because fetuses feel pain, science can in principle investigate that. If you think that torture is wrong because in no case can the suffering of one individual can prevent the suffering of many, that's amenable to investigation, too." But it also says that in neither case would that scientist be examining the morality of action. 
      One detail that the main idea is trying to get across is when it says, "ways of knowing" which is not really clear because it can't just be "ways of knowing", there has to be more. Another detail is that scientists are as prone to ideological thinking as human beings are, which is saying that scientists are NOT perfect and are still only human and can make false assumptions about anything. One last detail that I noticed was

This article is going in chronological order. The tone of this passage is kind of relaxed because he is trying to help people out by giving them tips. This article is explaining that there are 7 ways that you can change boredom into something not boring. It is also saying that when you are bored you could look for a way to feel grateful, like for example: When you are waiting in a slow line think, “Maybe the line at the other place is going slower.” that will make you feel better and you won’t be thinking about being bored. Putting the word “meditation” behind everything that makes you bored means that you say,for example: “Waiting mediation.” and it makes you feel a little more relaxed and less bored. Take the perspective of a journalist and study everything around you and it will take all of your thought process away from being bored. Find an area of refuge and just go somewhere mentally that will help you not think about that long list of groceries. What this means for me is that when I am so bored that I don’t even want to read than I should probably use some of these tips to help me not be bored. This means for the world that people should also use these helpful tips.
