Labang'o is the main character in The Rain Came and he is worth writing about because he is a father and he loves his family. The most significant features about Labang'o are his love, his compassion, and his care for his people and his family. The two forces that are at odds with each other is man vs. society because Labang'o's people want to sacrifice his only daughter to bring rain. They are at odds because Labong'o loves his daughter very much and doesn't want her to die and wishes that they would choose someone else's daughter. The reader should learn that life can be dangerous and unpredictable because Oganda, the daughter, had no idea that she was going to be sacrificed and thought that they were discussing her marriage and not her death. A word that I did not know was torrents and it means:A strong and fast-moving stream of water or other liquid and in the story it means that the rain will pour down and it will come down fast.
